Mixosaurus got its name from its appearance which suggested it to be a transitional form between eel-shaped ichthyosaurs such as Cymbospondylus and the later dolphin-shaped ichthyosaurs such as Ichthyosaurus! Like all prehistoric creatures made for the PaleoVentures lines, this creature is brought to life in a cute and simplified appearance.
