The first known plesiosaur from New Zealand, Mauisaurus is named after Māui, a Māori mythological demigod who is said to have pulled New Zealand up from the seabed using a giant fish hook! Like all prehistoric creatures made for the PaleoVentures lines, this creature is brought to life in a cute and simplified appearance.
